Hammer Golf ("the game") is created and owned by Elias Aalto ("I"). It is a free mobile golf game with no advertisements, no in‑app purchases, no user accounts, and no sign‑in. This Privacy Policy explains the limited, anonymous information that is collected when you play, why it is collected, and the choices you have. By using Hammer Golf you agree to this policy.
1. Short version
Hammer Golf collects anonymous gameplay statistics and crash reports via GameAnalytics so that I can fix bugs, balance the courses, and understand which features players enjoy. No personal information is collected, no advertising identifiers are used, no profiles are built about you, and nothing is sold to anyone.
2. What is collected
The only data leaving your device is what the GameAnalytics SDK sends. Specifically:
- Anonymous device ID. A randomly generated identifier created by GameAnalytics. It is not your Apple ID, not your IDFA, and is not tied to any personal information.
- Device & technical info. Device model, operating system version, app version, screen size, language, and approximate country (derived from IP and then discarded).
- Session info. When a play session starts and ends, and how long it lasted.
- Gameplay events. Progression through level packs, which holes you start and complete, your score on each hole, and other in‑game events I instrument for balancing (e.g. number of throws, achievements unlocked).
- Crash & error reports. If the game crashes or hits an unexpected error, a technical stack trace and basic device state are sent so I can fix it.
Hammer Golf does not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, precise GPS location, advertising identifiers, or any other personal information.
3. How the data is used
- To diagnose and fix crashes and bugs.
- To understand which courses and holes players enjoy or get stuck on, so I can balance the difficulty.
- To see roughly how many people are playing and on which devices, to prioritize what to improve.
The data is not sold, not shared with advertisers, and never used to build a profile of you as an individual.
4. Third‑party service: GameAnalytics
GameAnalytics (operated by GameAnalytics ApS, Copenhagen, Denmark) processes the data described above on my behalf in order to provide analytics dashboards and crash reports. Their processing is governed by the GameAnalytics Privacy Policy.
That is the only third‑party analytics, crash‑reporting, or advertising service used by Hammer Golf.
5. App distribution
Hammer Golf is distributed via the Apple App Store. Apple processes the download itself and any in‑store interactions (search, ratings, install) according to Apple's Privacy Policy. I receive only aggregate, anonymized information from Apple (e.g. total downloads per country).
6. No accounts, no in‑app purchases, no ads
Hammer Golf has no account system, no login, no in‑app purchases, and shows no advertisements. There is nothing on your device that links your gameplay back to a real‑world identity.
7. Children's privacy
Hammer Golf is suitable for all ages. Because no personal information is collected, the game does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction). No advertising identifiers are used and no behavioural advertising occurs. If you believe data has been collected in a way that concerns you, contact me at the address below and I will help.
8. Data retention
Anonymous gameplay and crash data sent to GameAnalytics is retained according to their retention schedule (currently up to approximately 14 months), after which it is deleted or further aggregated.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA), you may have rights to access, export, or request deletion of personal data held about you. Because Hammer Golf only sends anonymous data tied to a randomly‑generated device ID, I usually cannot link any specific record back to you as an individual. If you would still like to request deletion, email me at hammer@aalto.digital with the approximate dates you played and your device model, and I will work with GameAnalytics to remove what can be identified.
10. Opting out
The simplest way to opt out of all data collection is to uninstall the game. Reinstalling the game will generate a new, unrelated anonymous device ID.
11. International data transfers
GameAnalytics may process data on servers located outside your country (including within the EU and the United States). Where required, transfers rely on the safeguards described in GameAnalytics' privacy policy.
12. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be announced in the game and on this website.
13. Contact
Questions or requests about this Privacy Policy can be sent to hammer@aalto.digital.
